Chinese people start the day early. So early, in fact, that it annoys the hell out of Mahkam and me.
Every morning we get woken up by the same two or three old women walking their dogs and chatting with each other. The dogs bark and run around and the women laugh their heads off at whatever one of the others says. We get woken up every time.
Either that or it’s the street-sweeper truck coming by. Or the university radio blasting over the campus at seven o’clock.
No respect for the weekend, that's what it is. There should be some kind of law against making noise before nine o’clock in the morning on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
